Please call the clinic where your child is usually seen to check on the availability of flu vaccine and to make an appointment.
There are two different forms of flu vaccine, Flu Mist and injectable vaccine. FluMist is not given as an injection but is sprayed in the nose. It is approved for healthy children and adults from age 2 through age 49. The injectable flu vaccine can be used for those 6 months of age and older.
If your child is under 9 years old and getting flu vaccine for the first time, they should have 2 doses this year to provide adequate protection. The doses need to be separated by 4 weeks.
