BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Nichols joined the practice in 1982 after being on the pediatric staff of Indiana University. A native of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, he trained at the University of Michigan and Indiana University.
Dr. Nichols is board-certified in both pediatrics and sports medicine. In addition, he has a special interest in pediatric dermatology. He is on the staff of the Minnesota Sports Medical Center. Dr. Nichols is one of just a few pediatricians in the U.S. certified in both Pediatrics and Sports Medicine. He works as a team physician for Armstrong High School football and Edina High School soccer. He also helps provide medical coverage for state high school tournaments, as well as for events such as USA Soccer Cup, Twin Cities Marathon and Lifetime Triathalon. Dr. Nichols was an athlete physician at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
He enjoys telemark skiing and wilderness mountaineering. He is an avid cyclist and hiker in the summer, and during the winter months volunteers as a ski patroller at Buck Hill.

HOSPITAL AFFILIATION
Partners in Pediatrics pediatricians care for newborns at North Memorial, Maple Grove, Abbott-Northwestern, and Fairview-Southdale Hospitals. Children requiring hospitalization are cared for by pediatric hospitalists at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis.
