Dr. Nichols is one of the fewer than 60 physicians in the U.S. certified in both pediatrics and sports medicine. He is on the staff of the Minneapolis Sports Medicine Center and serves as a team physician for several area high school football and soccer teams. He is on the medical staff for the U.S.A. Cup Soccer Tournament and the Twin Cities Marathon. He has worked with local gymnastics, alpine skiing and soccer clubs as a team physician. He helps provide medical coverage for Minnesota State High School League State Championship events and was invited to serve as an athlete physician during the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City.
