| Partners in Pediatrics would
not be the place it is without the hundreds of people who help us deliver
quality pediatric care to the Twin Cities’ metropolitan area.
This includes the people you see every
time you come into the clinic as well those who work hard behind the scenes.
One group of people who provide indespensible
help for us is the fine folks from Lifeworks. Lifeworks is a private,
non-profit organization founded in 1965 by families with children who
have special needs. They have been going strong ever since.
Through the years it has evolved from an
organization serving children with disabilities to one serving adults
with disabilities (because school districts became responsible for services
for children with special needs).
The organization now offers adults with
disabilities the opportunity to work. Some of the young adults they are
supporting today came to Lifeworks as infants or toddlers years ago. Our
support from Lifeworks includes five women and their coach who come to
PIP weekly. They handle such things as packet collating, envelope stuffing,
stapling, copying, mail handling and filing.
We have all enjoyed their company and hope
that they continue at PIP for a very long time.
To C.J., Kara, Kerry, Lori, Judy, and their
coach Ryan—thank you for all you do.
